The Manitoba Country Music Association Board Members:

    President - Kerry Kingsland

Kerry Kingsland is a talented Canadian singer songwriter with a diverse musical background. With a resume that includes classical vocal training, performing in musical theater, jazz vocal groups and country rock bands. After turning his attention to contemporary country music he won a popular Canadian Star Search singing competition that kick started his country career. Kerry’s success saw him release a self titled CD from which 4 songs charted in Canada and received worldwide radio airplay. Kerry has opened shows for many of the top Canadian country acts Kerry has also toured live and played some of Canada’s biggest festivals including Dauphin's CountryFest. With an emphasis on songwriting Kerry is currently writing with some of Canada’s top songwriters.



    Vice President - Miles Trach
As lead vocalist for the Hard Miles Band, Miles has been a staple in the Winnipeg Music scene for many years.



    Treasurer - Noel Martin
Noel is a longtime fan and supporter of country music in Manitoba.



    Secretary- Janice Starodub
Whether it's producing shows, organizing workshops, or advising clients, Janice Starodub has become an in-demand music consultant, providing a liaison with Nashville and a bridge to the Canadian music industry. She built a vibrant group of writers and artists, which has grown into the thriving Manitoba Country Songwriters Association. Through Janice Starodub Artist Development, she brings new artists into the mainstream. As a member of the CBG Artist Development team, Janice is Management Advisor for MacKenzie Porter, The Keats, Jason Petric, and many others. The Country music aficionado has produced and promoted Songwriters Association of Canada's Bluebird North shows, the Lockport Dam Family Festival, the sold out Kickin' It Country series and many others. On her own or in conjunction with others, Janice is providing a multitude of resources and opportunities within the industry while continuously supporting and promoting country music in Manitoba and Canada.

    Director - Janelle Johnson
Music Publicist
Janelle Johnson has a desire to help independent musicians’ stories be told. She believes they all have a unique story, like her. Janelle spent many years traveling the world, learning from different cultures and experiences before returning to Winnipeg to complete the Public Relations and Marketing Management Program at University of Winnipeg.

With numerous North American tour campaigns under her belt now, Janelle has developed relationships with key arts and culture media personnel, which she continues to nourish to benefit each musician she works with. Contact Janelle



    Director - Bruce Leperre
Along side his role as both the Music Director and Program Director at 730 CKDM, Bruce sits on the Dauphin and District Allied Arts Council and writes a monthly column on Manitoba country music for the Ottawa based Country Music News. He is also a frequent contributor to the Winnipeg Free Press weekly CD reviews, in the Saturday entertainment section. In 2000 and 2002 Bruce was named Broadcaster of the Year by the Manitoba Country Music Association. Bruce had a double win at the 2005 Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA's) when he won both On-Air Personality of the Year, and Music Director of the Year.
