Good Luck To All Manitoba Artists!
MCMA - MCSA Partnership

The Manitoba Country Music Association (MCMA) is pleased to announce the partnership that we have formed with the Manitoba Country Songwriters Association (MCSA). The MCSA will officially fall under the MCMA umbrella. While the MCSA will continue to be governed by its own board of directors, the partnership will greatly improve the efficiency of the MCSA as the target groups for both associations are similar. The head office of the MCSA will be that of the MCMA, and the MCSA will gain access to all MCMA resources.

The Manitoba Country Music Association welcomes the Manitoba Country Songwriters Association as part of our family, and we look forward to the increased awareness and development of country music within Manitoba that this partnership will bring.

Dallas Smith(opens for Jason McCoy)
To Dallas Smith, country music has always been about the “special combination of a voice and song.” After spending nearly 10 years fronting Default, Smith is stepping out on his own, into the world of Country.
While in Nashville, Smith worked with acclaimed songwriter/producer Zac Maloy (Carrie Underwood, James Blunt), Grammy nominated songwriter Rodney Clawson, and Chris Tompkins (Carrie Underwood). The album is being produced by Joey Moi, who co-produced Jake Owen’s latest album, including his fastest-rising #1 single “Barefoot Blue Jean Night”.
“I’ve always chosen and written songs with challenging vocals that I love to sing,” Smith says, while explaining what new, and devoted fans can expect to hear with his upcoming album.

Crystal Shawanda - Thursday, June 21 at 8 p.m.
Crystal Shawanda was born in Ontario. She was raised and grew up in a reservation called Wikwemikong, located in the Manitoulin Islands in Canada.
Her childhood hero was Loretta Lynn. Crystal was a very talented young girl that she was able to write her first song at the age of nine.
Her father worked as a truck driver and she used to accompany him on many of his trips. The truck route usually goes from Michigan to Nashville. Crystal was 11 when she first visited Nashville; where she watched singers and musicians performed through the window at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge.
She signed to RCA Records in 2007 where she released her debut single, “You Can Let Go,” in January 2008 in Canada. The single was released in the United States on March 17, 2008.

Deric Ruttan - Friday, June 22 at 8 p.m.
Over time, Ruttan’s ability to paint vivid lyrical portraits has led to opportunities to write with a growing list of his peers, including Aaron Pritchett, Eric Church, Doc Walker and Dierks Bentley.
His success as a recording artist in his own right garnered him a JUNO nomination for Best Country Record in 2010 for Sunshine, as well as multiple nominations for the 2011 Canadian Country Music Awards, including Male Artist, Songwriter, Single and Video of the Year for ‘That’s How I Want To Go Out’.
In addition, Sunshine‘s lead single, ‘Up All Night’ was the most-played Canadian country single of 2010.

Chad Brownlee (opens for Deric Ruttan)
This past year has been a whirlwind for country music singer/songwriter Chad Brownlee .
The recent honoree of the 2011 Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA) Rising Star! is solidifying his place on the country music scene with incredible performances and rugged good looks.
His new track, “Love Me or Leave Me” explores a young love, following the recovery from the broken trust by an ex-lover, and the trepidation of a new romance. “I want your everything now… I ain’t gonna let you down… you’ve got a choice to make” sings Brownlee.
The lyrics, which share an all too familiar pain experienced by many, is complimented by his strong vocal skills. “I don’t care, who he was, this is us, if you really want me, I’ll make it easy, love me or leave me!”
