On behalf of myself and our entire Board of Directors, I would like to wish each and every one of you all the best this Holiday Season, and a very Happy New Year.
This year, we were able to get back to having some live attended events that were either supported or presented by the MCMA. I’d love to take just a moment to share some of our incredible successes with you:
1) We had a very successful songwriters event in Portage la Prairie this spring
2) We attended Dauphin’s Countryfest to help support and bring attention to the MCMA artists
performing there this summer. 13 Manitoba Artists graced the stages at Countryfest in 2022
3) We held our biggest and most successful Manitoba Country Music Awards this past November.
4) We once again were able to partner with Dauphin’s Countryfest and Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries to present the Dauphin’s Countryfest Competition Series at McPhillips Station Casino in November and December.
For an organization that does not receive any operational funding from any government or any other agency, we are thrilled to be able to have had such great success re-starting our in-person activity and overall.
We have had an ongoing relationship with the CCMA for several years now. That relationship at times changes as the leadership and administration of the CCMA changes but overall, it has been a challenge for all provinces to get a consistent seat at the CCMA table. In the past we have participated and sent Manitoba artists to CCMA sponsored events and talent searches. Through our continued efforts with the other provincial organizations, I think that we are much closer to establishing a clearer relationship with the CCMA.
We will be holding our 2023 AGM on January 16th, 2023, at the Canad Inns Windsor Park. Please check our MCMA web page for more information.
Going in to 2023 we will have two openings on our Board of Directors that we will be accepting applications for. If you love country music, or the music and entertainment business, we would love for you to join us. Even if you are not able to commit to a position on our board of directors there are lots of other opportunities to be a part of the MCMA on a committee or as a volunteer at one of our events. We are a province-wide association, so no matter where you live in Manitoba, you too can be part of the MCMA!

During this Holiday Season, I wish you all peace, happiness, and a chance to spend quality time with those closest to you. Please stay safe and stay healthy.
Respectfully,
Miles Trach
