Bruce Leperre

  • Inducted into the Manitoba Country Music Hall of Fame in 2021

Shortly after graduating from the National Institute of Broadcasting in 1979, Bruce Leperre began his lustrous radio career at CKDM in Dauphin where he eventually took the role of Director of Programming and Music while still hosting the weekly alt country/roots show.

In addition to his many years at CKDM, Bruce wrote CD reviews and the odd entertainment piece for the Winnipeg Free Press.

From the early 1990's to 2012 Bruce also wrote a monthly column for Ottawa based Country Music News and sat on the Board of Directors of the MCMA.

As a fan of all music, Bruce booked shows at the Watson Art Centre in Dauphin and did what he could to assist independent artists of all genres with their music careers.

Bruce was twice awarded the Manitoba Association Country Arts (MACA) Radio Personality of the Year and in 2005 he won both the Canadian Country Music Association’s Music Director of the Year (Secondary Market) and On Air Personality of the Year (Secondary Market).
